Brandon Kirchman is a 3D Environment Artist specializing in photorealism for video games and film. He strongly focuses on composition, lighting, and texturing, creating immersive digital worlds that enhance storytelling. A graduate of the University of Central Florida's Fine Arts Program, he applies his background in traditional charcoal drawing to his 3D work, using his deep understanding of form, light, and texture to craft environments rich in detail and atmosphere. His artistic excellence has been recognized through two J.R. Hopes Scholarships for charcoal work, and he was named to the College of Arts and Humanities Dean's List for two consecutive years. Before fully immersing himself in digital art, Kirchman served in the United States Navy as an Electrician's Mate aboard the USS Harry S. Truman (CVN-75). This experience honed his problem-solving skills, discipline, and ability to work under pressure, qualities that seamlessly translate into his approach to complex 3D projects. His expertise in environmental storytelling is exemplified in his thesis film, "A Siege of Greed," a visually striking flythrough exploring themes of conquest, greed, and the human cost of war. Through intricate world-building, atmospheric composition, and dynamic lighting, a war-ravaged environment filled with beached warships, crumbling columns, ruined buildings, and cryptic bloodstained messages. This project marks a significant step in his creative journey, reinforcing his commitment to advancing visual storytelling in games and films through immersive, emotionally resonant environments.
