Dani has always had a huge love for stop motion films. She started making little animations with clay and a digital camera when she was just 8 years old, and after graduating high school she attended university to study animation. "Body Seeking Soul" is the thesis film she created at The University of the Arts in Philadelphia.
"One of my biggest artistic inspirations as a filmmaker is the idea of the protagonists journey. I love how it can represent so many things, including transformation, synthesis, and achieving a greater understanding of life. In 'Body Seeking Soul,' I knew I wanted the journey to be experienced through the eyes of a genderless main character to symbolize the duality of my own identity as a gender non-conforming bisexual woman."
