Director Biography - Sergio Bonacci Lapalma

Sergio Bonacci Lapalma - Director, Cinematographer and VJ is an Argentine American writer, director, producer and cinematographer born in Los Angeles and currently living in Argentina. Lapalma started his career at St. George College of Quilmes, Centro de Investigación y Experimentación de Cine y Video (CIEVyC) and Centro de Formación Profesional del Sindicato de Cine (CFP SICA) respectively, where he studied under notable figures as Eduardo Müller and Cannes Film Festival winner Santiago Loza as well as Oscar winners Juan José Campanella and Aida Bortnik. Lapalma has been awarded numerous distinctions for photography, sound, production and direction including recognition for his short film "The Bloody Prey" in the international festival of Spain, “Immaginando a Buñuel”. In Argentina he won Best Short Film and Best Montage at the 18° Festival of the CIEVyC. His short film, "The Bloody Illusion (2014)", has been selected in Doc Outlook-International Market of Visions du Réel 2014 International Film Festival (Switzerland, Nyon). Lapalmas latest release Soy Ringo with official support from INCAA (Instituto Nacional de Cine y Artes Audiovisuales) was debuted at the 2014 BAFICI (Buenos Aires International Independent Film Festival). He was also awarded Best Photography by the Theater of Rojas at the Theatre of the World Festival in 2010 for the play “El Ardor”. Lapalma has worked with such critically acclaimed actors as Guillermo Francella (2008 Oscar winner), Boy Olmi, Alejandro Paker, Xavier Alberti, Marcelo D'Andrea, Ricardo Holcer, Marcela Bidegain, to name a few. Lapalma has made numerous music videos for the legendary Argentine psychedelic band, Poseidotica, is currently working in creating the visual album for the band Lulacruza shot by French videomaker, Vincent Moon. Not to forget his video-jockey works that he does for the folk-chacarera -rock band: Los Guauchos, some works that he has done for Poseidotica and for the argentine icon in folklore: Los Carabajal.
Lapalma is now developing a feature film from the adaptation of a theatre play by the respected Catalan playwright Josep Maria Benet i Jornet. (www.vimeo.com/sblapalma)
