You’ve chosen to film. Chosen to put together a visual piece of art if we may say so. Today when anyone with a camera can, in theory, make a film... how will you make your short film stand out? What you intend to do with your film is what the Bengaluru International Short Film Festival is all about. We will be what you create.

After the tremendous success that was BISFF 2023, we are all set to host the 14th edition. Just as every year, this is an attempt to understand the medium a little better and go a little further in inventing new forms of storytelling as filmmakers.

This year the Festival will be a HYBRID Version, having both Online and Venue Screenings. Online Screenings will be only for INDIAN Geography

The festival showcases shorts from across the world, creating a physical space for a great audience experience and bringing together a keen audience for the filmmakers. BISFF also exhibits works by past masters who have dabbled in short filmmaking that today is viewed as an art form that needs a unique approach. Additionally, the festival presents talks and panel discussions with leading thinkers and industry practitioners, enabling budding makers to interact with the best in the industry. BISFF also includes hands on learning experiences in workshops and demonstrations by professionals, putting together an exclusive audience experience and perhaps space for makers to find what they are looking for.

  • The most hospitable film festival out there. I’ve had the best time being part of the celebrations.

  • I had a wonderful time this year at BISFF 2023. Curated over three days in Bengaluru, I watched a variety of short films under different sections, selected by a diverse set of jury members for each of these sections. It was also very special as our first short film LOO won the first prize in the Karnataka Competition section and gave us a wonderful opportunity to share our work with a larger audience (physical and online), as well as watch the works of other filmmakers and interact with them. The festival truly celebrates the spirit of meaningful short films and is a wonderful opportunity for aspiring as well as experienced filmmakers to share their work. I wish the best of luck to the entire team for future editions. More power to short films:-)

  • As a first-time filmmaker, it was an honour for me to have my film 'Domestic Help' screened at BISFF. The festival is undoubtedly one of the best film festivals in India and Asia. I was thoroughly impressed by the organising committee which was spot on in terms of communications, promotions etc. I look forward to being here soon with my next film. Wishing the best to the entire organising team and keep up the good work!

  • In addition to the great honor of being selected for this important and prestigious festival, which is the only one qualified for Oscar qualifiers in India - Anand's warm heart passed to us through the pre-recorded Zoom call to share with the audience his thoughts and experiences behind the scenes. Unfortunately, I could not help myself to come physically, but here you will see for yourself the emotional power of the lighting of the face in the recording of the meeting -
