Hailing all the way from the beautiful state of Alabama, Bella Cruz is a hard working survivor! Once she endured she an 8 hour audition singing and dancing all day after a round of chemotherapy. She brings that same grit, determination, and 'get it done no matter what' to every production she's been apart of, from her own smaller indie short films for her production company Bellavision LLC, to larger big budgets for entities like NBC.
Bella studied Math, Theater, and Dance at Marymount Manhattan College and Adelphi University. During summers she attended Acting and Writing Intensives at NYU. She has been employed as a writer for various production companies, and one of her television pilots was optioned by several major entities, including a major television network.
Now that she's beaten cancer, her goal is to bring her carefully crafts stories that uplift and educate to the masses. She uses her life's adversities as a backdrop for her uniquely dark, witty humor. Hers is a fresh voice that must be heard.
I am a Black Afro Latina Indigenous Filmmaker based in Los Angeles passionate about the business of film and television. I create spaces for diversity in my production company, Bellavision LLC, where women and POC are given opportunities above and below the line.
I started directing due to necessity, not ambition as directors would either flake or try to charge my tiny production exorbitant fees I simply could not pay. However, I have learned to really love and enjoy the process. Thank God for all those years as a PA, Production Coordinator, Producer, Background, and Stand In. I paid attention to every job on set and now I'm producing movies for Tubi!
"180" is an important as it speaks to the insatiable need for achievement via capitalism so prevalent in our current culture, and what that means for a society willing literally do anything for money and status.
Thank you for your time and consideration. All the best!
