Beaverland
Derek and Giorgia, a young couple of biologists, settle in Tierra del Fuego, Patagonia, to develop their thesis. Loaded with traps and a camcorder, they investigate ways to stop the beaver plague that destroys the forest. By observing the scientists, in total isolation, exposed to cold and hunger, just as their prey, our film explores the link between nature and mankind.

Nicolás Molina, 1985, graduated in Film Making at the UC in Chile in 2009. His short films “The Wild Boar” and “The Athlete” have been present in several film festivals. He recently finished “Chile Suena”, a documentary series for the Chilean TV. “Beaverland” is his first feature length film.
Beavers form family units, are tenacious builders and modify their sorroundings to their need. In Patagonia, with their environmentally devastating dams, become metaphor of humans when joining a new ecosystem.
