ASSHOLIO

When Beautiful Monkey gets rudely awoken by some drilling, he jumps on his trusty ass to try and find some peace.

‘Assholio’ is a collaboration between a musician/drawer of hybrid animals and a film maker based in Cork, Ireland. This original song by Erin Kleh, takes us on a familiar journey of a difficult day, as seen from the unfamiliar perspective of a monkey.

Director Biography - Nathan Erasmus

My first animated project One eskimO was produced independently and after winning several awards internationally; Warner Premiere commissioned it into a series of animated shorts. Since then I have worked on various motion comics, developed scripts for animated feature films, directed my first indie Documentary ROAD TO RIO; From the Streets to the world and written a children's book that I'm currently illustrating. I'm now turning my focus back to animated shorts and music videos, starting with Assholio, music by the very talented Erin K.

Director Statement

The style is classic fairy tale (classic as in 1700’s Brothers Grimm esque nightmarish and disturbing fairytale). We have a sketchbook aesthetic in the video, the end result is somewhere in between a super detailed animatic and a simplistic animation; kind of an anti-mation.
