Besides working as a television and radio producer and presenter while in Film School, he’s also worked inside advertising and production companies as an assistant, producer and editor for film and television projects with commercial, social, institutional and environmental approaches. He’s been creatively involved in the construction of advertising campaigns, book designs and multimedia products, but also in the production of documentaries, short films and music videos.

In 2013 he started his own production company with a strong focus on interactive film, video, photography and television experiences with a human and emotional perspective. He's been responsible for the development of personal and institutional productions, but also handling budgeting, scheduling, scripting, pre-production and marketing. As a producer and assistant director, he’s worked on two Costa Rican Feature Films (‘A Ojos Cerrados’, 2010 directed by Hernán Jiménez, and ‘Maikol Yordan’, 2014 by Miguel Gómez). In 2015, 'Dele Viaje' (interactive series he had originally developed and directed as a thesis graduation project in college) was awarded 'El Fauno', a Costa Rican Film Fund Grant. He was able to finance, write and direct a new full season, together with a multidisciplinary team. 'Dele Viaje' has been selected to participate in multiple Digital Series' Festivals around the globe, and has been awarded several prizes, including Best Cinematography, Best Script, Best Drama Series and Best International Series.

Jose Pablo has also been teaching "Storytelling" at the School of Collective Communication in the University of Costa Rica since 2017, and is currently working on the development of his first Feature Film as a Director.
