Shi Yun Teo (b. 1999, Singapore) is an artist and filmmaker,
currently in her first year of undergraduate studies at the Slade
School of Fine Art, UCL.
To acquire an awareness of ourselves, a questioning of who am I and how we will realise it.
I am interested in documenting rituals, the act of connecting to
our ancestors in nature for their wisdom and guidance ethereally.
To re-establish our bonds with the universe by tapping into the
themes of spirituality, nature and culture —the memory of history.
Through writing & filmmaking, I create a visual poetry to show
my ancestral past and the desire to claim back my identity and
heritage. An attempt to overcome my feelings of being lost and
celebrate this reunion by putting all my emotions in to heal myself.
