ARBATAX!!
ARBATAX!! is an experimental short film made of fragments of different amateur filmographies kept in the Cineteca Sarda's home movies archive, in Cagliari, Sardinia. The usual "home movies canon", where families are shown at their best during celebrations, is eluded by bizzarre sequences and juxtapositions of found material that show moments of experimental freedom in choosing what's "worth" or "appropriate" filming. The body is the main vector of expression within this non-narrative experimental film, showing bodies following and unfollowing gender and home movies norms, in a journey through tenderness and irony. The music and sound were also found in the archive, and they have been either kept with the original sequence or reassigned to other filmographies.
