and then I STOOD
The short film highlights the plight of girls and women in India. A woman is stalked at her home where she must be the most secure, her comfort and safety are walked over by acquaintances and strangers alike. She is continuously followed and chased, in the presence of the public, in broad daylight, in her schools and offices, and mostly within the circumference of a dead society. This act of continuous chase could break the trust and confidence of a human and that results in hiding and running all the while. Until a woman analyzes that her running away makes her perpetrator strong and envious, she stops and turn with all her might, facing the culprit and in her circumference starts walking towards him. The act itself suggests that we (men/women) have the power and capability to Fight and sensitize the evil which is a byproduct of toxic masculinity and age-old patriarchy.
