Born and raised in the countryside of Tyrone, Northern Ireland, Mark went on to study Media Production both at college and then university.

After graduating, he worked as a Media Specialist for a Summer Camp in Colorado, USA, before returning to working in Belfast. During his year living in Belfast, he worked on a range of short films, event and music videos, and began work as an editor on his first Feature, a documentary directed and filmed by his friend Ryan.

He has since moved to Inverness, Scotland, where he now teaches photography and filmmaking to local young people.
