And I am in them

Stirred from his bed of dead leaves, he senses a presence in the clearing beyond the dark wood. He yearns to join it, to lunge out of the shadows, but his efforts draw him further from what he perceives afar. And so he relaxes, waiting for its touch to find him.

Looking one last time, through the window that gave him access to the clearing, he returns it to the leaves and his soul can be with the sun at last.
