Experiencing Interruptions?

A Matter of Time

Diagnosed with a rare form of early onset Alzheimer's, Peter crafts a device to safeguard past memories and cherished moments. Yet, when distant memories stir up broken promises, Peter’s fragmented recollections leave him drifting somewhere between the conscious and unconscious mind, with his fate caught somewhere in between.

Director Biography - Matt Parker

Growing up with a shared passion for cinema and theme park design, I found endless inspiration in the immersive worlds, engrossing stories and iconic characters that laid the foundation for my future endeavors. For the last decade, I have navigated the art of experiential design, opening shows, spectacles, and attractions around the globe. At the cross-section of immersive design and cinematic storytelling, my style and inspiration bridges intriguing visuals with emotional storytelling. A Matter of Time is my directorial debut, a short film that questions the veracity of memories, and the decisions one makes when recollecting a fractured past.

Director Statement

I think it’s fair to say that many of us have a fascination with memory, dreams and the nature of reality. The truth is that when we set out to make this film back in 2010, it was a very different story. In fact, it was a romantic comedy, imagine that!

What transpired over the next five years resulted in a personal, some might say, cathartic response to art imitating life. I’ve been fortunate to work with some incredibly talented people throughout this last decade to help bring this film to life. It’s a story that we all found a kindred passion in sharing, as it connected with so many of our own lives in unique, different ways. I hope that you too will find a kernel of truth, a light to your fire, a moment’s reflection, or, as I have come to realize is the most enjoyable part of this process, an opportunity to spark conversation.
