Director Biography - Martin Monk

Martin Monk is a German film director, script writer and photographer. He studied history, literature and philosophy in London, Paris and Berlin, graduating with a Master of Arts in Cultural Theory. His narrative short films were shown at festivals worldwide including Raindance, HollyShorts, Max Ophüls Prize and Filmfest Dresden. Analog photography, which he took up as a teenager, serves as a great source of inspiration for his cinematic work. Since 2017, he studies directing in the class of Michael Haneke in the Master's program at Film Academy Vienna.
