Café Algerian Haven

Old Kent Road, Nounou, a common man, seeking a better future in London, left Algeria in the late 80s. After years of struggling, he decided to continue operations at Cafe L'Auberge.

Algerian Haven, a short documentary film about a small bistro, where North African flavors simmer. Young and old in London, order the famous "frite-omelette", the sandwich of the humble worker in Algeria.

Our camera, follows Nounou, while he shows us what it is like to spend one day at his cafe ; it can be a place to find work, housing, solve one's problems or even get married. Surprisingly, not all customers are Algerians, Nounou made sure it became a place of encouraging social, cultural exchange and Memories.
