To the other side of the lagoon

Antonio is an organic coffee farmer who has a deep relationship with the lagoon of his village, Villa Rica. Which he travels along on a daily basis to protect his land. At his 76 years, Antonio refuses to stop working despite the fact that his old age prevents him from doing so as much as he would like to. Upon contemplating on his lands, he reflects on this reality, taking refuge in his memories.

Director Biography - Angel Pajares

Angel Pajares (Trujillo, Peru. 1995). Graduated in Communication, he studies the specialty of Direction of Documentary Cinema at the International School of Film and Television (EICTV) of Cuba. Winner of five competitions of the DAFO of the Culture Ministry of Peru. Participated with scholarship in workshops and film residences in Argentina, Colombia, Chile, Cuba, Panama, Peru and Uruguay. His first documentary film, 'To the other side of the lagoon' (2018), was shown at festivals such as Transcinema, Lima Film Festival (Peru), FIC Monterrey (Mexico), AricaDoc (Chile), among others, participated in film meetings such as Berlinale Talents BA, ChileDoc Conecta and DocMontevideo. He currently directs Cinestami, production company that develops film projects in Latin America.
