Pardis Parker is the creator and star of Comedy Central's Mideast Minute, and will soon be joining the 25th season of CBC's stalwart satirical news program This Hour Has 22 Minutes as a Correspondent.
As a writer/director his work has earned distinctions from the likes of Disney-ABC, NBCUniversal, the Toronto International Film Festival, Athens International Film Festival, Montreal's Just for Laughs Comedy Festival, Boston Comedy Festival, Canadian Broadcasting Corporation, Canadian Comedy Awards, and National Screen Institute of Canada.
As a comedian he's performed at comedy clubs across Canada, the United States, and England.
And as an actor he's appeared on shows for ABC, CBS, CBC, Showcase, Family Channel, Comedy Central, and others.
And he likes blueberries.
Not eating them, but just, you know, as a concept.
I was living in Montreal when the terrorist attacks occurred on September 11th, 2001.
Shortly afterward a car in my neighbourhood was vandalized in the manner depicted in the film. Far from being an isolated incident, it was one of many acts of violence directed towards anyone living in the West who could conceivably have been of Middle Eastern origin.
The question I asked myself when I sat down to address the incident was, what happened next? How did the victim respond? How would I have responded?
The result is this film.
My eternal thanks goes out to everyone listed in the film's credits. The film wouldn’t be what it is had it not been for their involvement.
