R. Alan Ingalls is a filmmaker and photographer with a passion for music, macchiatos, and just about anything with a motor. Alan’s fascination with cameras began in Texas through childhood experiments using his grandmother’s VHS camcorder. Now based in a tiny Tennessee town about 100 miles north of Memphis, that curiosity has evolved into a full-time career in commercial filmmaking and photography. Since 2015, Alan has spent his days shooting and editing marketing videos and product photography for Rough Country, an industry-leading manufacturer of automotive accessories that enable and enhance off-road adventures. Alan also owns and operates The Attention Company, a video production company he established in 2020, where he spends his nights and weekends filming and editing short films, music videos, and other commercial video projects. Alan’s current career goal is to work on larger projects with bigger budgets to unlock new challenges, opportunities, and audiences.
The concept for “Mississippi In Me” by A Band Of Jones was simply to visually represent the song’s lyrics about being a proud Mississippian through and through by shooting the whole music video in a Mississippi cotton field. Filmed just west of Corinth, MS in a community called Kossuth, the video was shot in the cotton fields of Mitchell Farms. Lionel Mitchell and his family have been farming the same land for over 100 years and Lionel's grandson Zack is featured in the video operating the John Deere CP690 Cotton Picker.
