I used to write 30,000 word fanfictions for free. Now I want to write TV shows for money.
Zoe Arscott is a writer from South Florida, currently based in Miami, where she writes television that feels like being seen for the first time. A senior majoring in Film & Television Writing with a minor in Education, Zoe centers her work on coming-of-age stories told through the lens of a queer woman of color: stories that are funny, awkward, heartfelt, and deeply personal.
She recently interned with Hello Sunshine’s Kids, YA & Family team, where she completed script and book coverage, helped scout IP, pitched adaptations, and co-wrote a mockumentary sketch that won first place in the company’s internship competition. She tells stories about characters caught between identities, exploring longing, belonging, and everything in between.
Zoe finds inspiration in POC led shows, queer films, and her own unconventional upbringing: being homeschooled, living in a full house (literally), and navigating spaces where she didn’t always see herself represented. She writes to change that.
She currently dreams of one day creating a show that feels like home to someone who’s never seen theirs on screen.
