Director Statement

Alcohol is ubiquitous in our society and occupies a significant place in our interpersonal interactions. Alcohol promises fun, adventure, and is a welcome distraction from the dullness of everyday life. At the same time, we believe we always have our alcohol consumption under control, just like ourselves, and look down on all those who supposedly can't manage it: The losers and outsiders - the alcoholics. But aren't we ourselves just as deep in addiction as those supposed losers? The short film "Zaschka" tries to ask questions in this regard and to confront the viewers with themselves.
