STORY
Cape Zampa in Okinawa will be shown as an imaginary town.
In the film, “ZAMPA” touches on the issue of denuclearization and
the worldwide fear towards natural disasters, and will show the
present state of Japan where one’s dignity of life is being neglected.
Ryuto gets heavily exposed to radiation in the capital city of Japan,
and senses that his days are numbered. He and Richi try to kidnap
the secret messenger sent from the mainland who is only interested
in protecting concessions and solving everything with dirty money.
In order to conceal Ryuto’s exposure to radiation, the Secret
Intelligence Service of pro-nuclear groups come from the mainland in their attempt to assassinate Ryuto. Richi fights
against them to protect him. At first glance, Richi seems delicate and fragile, but she is actually a master of karate. She
has a strong sense of justice, and even uses “jifa” as a weapon. We believe the action scenes and Richi’s elegant character
will attract audiences overseas as well.
This film is not intended to judge good or evil, or to send out political messages. Our main aim is to illustrate the cycle of
reincarnation of sins and the foolishness of human beings. With the vivid images of Okinawa, we intend to make it into a
fantasy film, which also implies the present state of modern Japan.
