Friends Alan (on the left in photo) and Robert have collaborated on a number of projects, often with Alan acting and Robert directing, though they have both acted on projects together as well. This is their first time co-directing a film.
This "accidental film" happened while Robert was walking down the sidewalk to meet up with Alan. Robert didn't realize Alan, standing partly behind a lamp post, was filming the autumn leaves with his phone as he walked into Alan's frame. Alan waved Robert past, and like an agreeable actor, Robert walked on by. On looking at the footage later, Robert thought it would be cool to package it up as a micro short, and Alan agreed. There was something interesting about the interaction and the dynamic of the filmer and the filmed, and the message to not miss the beauty of nature seemed to fall naturally out of the work. Unusual in several ways, including the aspect ratio, this fun little micro short is a happy accident with a message!
