Director Biography - Mike Weimer

James "Mike" Weimer is a BFA graduate from the Tom Hanks Center for Motion Pictures at Wright State University. He has developed multiple works ranging from analytical essays to his ever-growing body of short and feature-length works.

Mike released a project every year of his college career, sometimes more than one per semester, with each film taking on a different genre while furthering his unique and ambitious approach to storytelling. His films deal with the every day problems he experienced throughout his childhood, including adultery (Dinner is Severed), physical/emotional abuse (Root Beer Sucks), and creating hope from nothing (Browse Awhile).

Ultimately, Mike wants to make a difference in his work. To tell stories for the sake of entertainment and providing a getaway for those in need of one. More importantly, to make a change. Mike enjoys the twists and turns of storytelling but finds it imperative to deliver a clear message. He believes in examining the monsters of our world so that we can help slay them.
