You Can't Take Her Out- A Sita Gomez Story

You can’t take her out- she’s uncontrollable.
You can’t take her out- she’s a survivor.
You can’t take her out of art history.

A punk rock real estate agent turned filmmaker (Susie DeFord) meets 91-year-old Cuban- American Artist Sita Gomez and begins to help Sita to get her artwork back in the public eye after 30 years in obscurity. Through the power of film and social media Susie tells Sita’s story of fleeing Nazi occupied Paris, the Cuban Revolution, and the New York art scene of the 60’s and 70’s. You Can’t Take Her Out shows the struggle of being a wife, mother, and artist, and the power of an unlikely friendship between women artists of different generations.
