Experiencing Interruptions?

Yoshiro Mare & Dúo Dø - Kitsune (The Game)

Kitsune (The Game) narrates a journey of self-discovery through Japanese and gaming culture where retro arcade esthetic combines with new AI modern game visuals on a first person perspective, capturing the essence of the contrasting nature of the fox, being adventurous and cautious, friendly but also a mischievous creature giving the impression as if we were the ones on the skin of a Kitsune (Japanese for fox)

A song inspired by the story of Kuzunoha (葛の葉), literally "leaf of Kuzu," a vine native to Southeast Asia.

The legend tells the story of a nobleman named Abe no Yasuna who, while walking one day, encounters a soldier hunting foxes to make medicines. Disagreeing with the killing of the foxes, Abe fights with the soldier and manages to free one of the captured animals.

Lost on his way after the fight with the hunter, Abe meets a beautiful woman who helps him return home. As in every love story, Abe and the woman, named Kuzunoha, fall in love, eventually marry, and have a child together.

After a few years, Kuzunoha becomes distracted and lets her son see her fox tail. Saddened by revealing her true nature, she flees home, leaving behind a farewell poem.

The journey reminds us to acknowledge all the masks we make for ourselves while we try to get what we love even when everything around us seems darker or unknown, our capacity to shift around every mood and circumstance just like a fox is the one aspect of the journey we cherish the most.
