Yiyi and the Wish Hat

A suspicious hit & run accident leaves Vivian in a comatose state. In the interim, her 10-year-old daughter Yiyi arrives at US from China, only to be told that she has abandoned her. While faithfully waits for her mom’s return, Yiyi overcomes prejudice and discrimination, earns love and friendship along the way.

A near drowning incident makes Yiyi realize her mom’s blue straw hat can somehow answer her prayer. But when she helps two kids escape the claws of a kidnapper, and gets stuck on a burning roof with no way out, it would take a true miracle for her to survive the deadly flame.

Writer Biography - Lin Lin

Lin Lin immigrated to the United States when she was 17 years old, currently lives in New Jersey. Creative writing has been her passion since childhood. Her dream is to write and direct her own feature-length films. Lin is fluent in English and Chinese (Mandarin).

Lin’s first novel, an epic fantasy adventure, The Thousand Year Promise – Book I –The Eye of Phoenix, was published in 2016 by Amazon. Several months later, she published her second novel Hidden Scent, a paranormal romantic thriller. In 2017, Lin published her third novel, a children’s fantasy, Yiyi and the Amazing Wish Hat.

In 2017, a Chinese Publisher FIBERREAD acquires the rights to translate all three novels into Chinese. From 2017 to 2019, the Chinese Version of all her novels has been distributed worldwide as e-books.

In 2019, with the help and guidance of a produced screenwriter, Lin adopts her novels into feature length screenplays.

How does a 10-year-old Chinese-American orphan survive in a highly diverse United States, and despite the hardships she's been through, still keeps her faith in love & humanity? Yiyi and the Wish Hat is a family drama with universal appeal about love, faith and courage that would inspire a new generation. The decisions our youngsters make today might lead to a change that will heal our divided nation, and turn our world into a better place.
