Yes We Can

Since the beginning of 2020, the world has been affected by the Covid-19 pandemic. To soothe and encourage people, we invited around 30 Hakka singers to sing “Yes We Can,” a song made especially for this event, to show support for Taiwan’s fight against the pandemic.

This year, 2021, several infection clusters broke out in Taiwan, creating panic among the public. Every healthcare worker, police officer, paramedic, and disinfection services worker has been working under high pressure in high-risk environments to protect everyone in Taiwan. Therefore, we made a film about the current situation of the pandemic to accompany this song so that more people can see how everyone in Taiwan has been working together to fight against the pandemic.

Director Biography - Pei-yao Sung

Sung has been working in film production for about three years. She studied mass communication in university. She already took the initiative to participate in film production while she was a student. In fact, most of the time she worked as the director or film editor. Her undergraduate graduation project was a documentary about body bequest. This documentary defeated more than 2,000 contestants at the 2017 SCCP Graduation Projects Expo as one of the top 10 nominated works.
