Yatharth
"Yatharth" is a fiction film project that oscillates between two distinct realities within the narrative. The core idea was to explore two contrasting genres of storytelling: one being a traditional family drama and the other a superhero tale. Despite their stark differences, these genres are intertwined by subtle yet meaningful connections.
Both storylines revolve around the relationship between a grandfather and his grandson, with each protagonist sharing a common tragedy—the loss of their parents at a young age. What truly binds the two narratives, however, is a key event that occurs simultaneously in both worlds, acting as a bridge between them.
The primary plot follows a young boy who is making a superhero film with his grandfather (who plays the superhero) and his friends. During the course of filming, a tragic and unexpected event unfolds—his grandfather dies in real life at the exact moment the superhero character in the film within the film also dies. This leads the boy into a psychological crisis where he struggles to distinguish between the two worlds. The line between reality and fiction blurs, plunging him into a state of trauma.
As the protagonist's confusion deepens, characters from the superhero world begin to cross over into his real life, further distorting his perception of what is real and what is not. His fragile reality shatters even more when he encounters someone who looks exactly like his late grandfather, amplifying his sense of disorientation.
The film delves deeply into themes of reality, perception, and the blurring of boundaries between the two, which is why it is aptly titled **"Yatharth"**—meaning "reality." The protagonist, Yatharth, embodies the struggle to reconcile these conflicting worlds, making his journey both personal and metaphysical.
