Director Biography - Paul Lazar

Paul Lazar graduated from the Film Production program at Concordia University in Montreal, Canada. As a filmmaker, he is interested in the different particularities of the moving image and its ability to encompass multiple time periods. Using a personal approach, the artist addresses themes of sexuality, anxiety, and the confrontation with failure, which he mainly explores through their evolution within social media. His upcoming short film En mémoire d’une brève canicule (Heatwave) is currently underway with the support of the Canada Council for the Arts and the Conseil des arts et des lettres du Québec.
