“Xinjiang Person”,Shepherd life. Jumagul’s world
Zhumagul Qantaiqyzy and Qasen Omirbekuly moved to Kazakhstan from Xinjiang in 2012. For many years, two members of the family could not obtain citizenship. Having spent all their hard-earned money from animal husbandry and work for hire on paperwork, they have been living as nomads in a deserted area, constantly relocating all four seasons. Zhumagul is a poet. Her dream is simple. One is to get citizenship, the other is to contact close relatives in Xinjiang by phone. The colorless, transparent life of pure little people plunges into the depths of the Kazakh worldview.
