Eastern Lightning, the Church of Almighty God was created because of the appearance and work of Almighty God, the second coming of the Lord Jesus, Christ of the last days. It is made up of all those who accept Almighty God's work in the last days and are conquered and saved by His words. It was entirely founded by Almighty God personally and is led by Him as the Shepherd. It was definitely not created by a person. Christ is the truth, the way, and the life. God's sheep hear God's voice. As long as you read the words of Almighty God, you will see God has appeared.

Director Statement

"Mankind, who left the supply of life from the Almighty, does not know why they exist, and yet fears death. There is no support, no help…. When you are weary and when you begin to feel the desolation of this world, do not be perplexed, do not cry. Almighty God, the Watcher, will embrace your arrival any time" (The Word Appears in the Flesh). Through the life transformation of its Christian protagonist, Xiaozhen's Story portrays the loss and fall of humanity in a society that strives for fame and fortune, as well as the terror and helplessness of when people leave God and lose their life's direction. It points out the direction for leaving the bondage of sin and finding the true life to all those who yearn for the light, bringing them the gospel.

This musical drama has the following features:

1. The musical is characterized by its rich and varied use of creative dance. Bringing together modern dance, hip-hop, ballet, waltz, cha-cha, the tango, pasodoble, etc., it also integrates many innovative elements from life, giving the audience a sense of the many flavors of human existence as they enjoy the spectacular dance performances.

2. The musical uses the dance stage to interpret true human life. Exquisite characters portray the good and evil of human nature; the twists and turns of their fates are touching, and the many climaxes in the plot encourage the audience to reflect upon the path of human life and the meaning of human existence, asking practical yet profound questions such as: What do people need to strive for in order to be happy? Why do people feel their lives are empty and painful? What is the value and meaning of life? What makes mankind capable of depravity? Who can save people and rescue them from a life of pain? Who is able to lead people into the happiness and the light? And so on. Ultimately, the musical’s perfect ending brings the gospel and hope to all those who seek a happy life!

3. The musical is a profound exposition of people in whom God has no place in their hearts, and who are without the guidance of the truth. It shows their piteous state: Faced with the temptation of money, fame, and power, they expose their greediness, maliciousness, evil, hypocrisy, and slavish devotion to the rich and powerful; in order to satisfy their own selfish desires, they have no compunction about putting on a pretense and selling out their own human integrity and dignity. It paints a revealing picture of the various ugly faces of corrupt mankind, presenting the consequences of not worshiping God, and straying from God. It is profoundly enlightening.

4. The lyrics of the musical have profound significance. These are not ordinary words, but the language of truth expressed by Christ the Savior of the last days. They describe God's care and concern for mankind, pointing out the path of light for a mankind that has suffered deeply and lost its way. Every word in the lyrics touches people's hearts and stirs their souls, moving them, and making them reflect, awakening them, benefiting them, and edifying them. The lyrics have profound value and significance!

5. None of the performers who took part had any prior experience in musicals. Together, they prayed to God and relied on God, and in short order overcame all manner of difficulties involving musical composition, dance choreography, performance skills, clothing, props, providing a profoundly meaningful audiovisual feast for audiences that stirs their souls.

6. The musical drama was independently produced and completed by the Church of Almighty God Film Center in October 2015.

7. All of the performers who took part in the musical did so free of charge. They were not paid for their contribution.

8. All of the videos and films produced by the Church of Almighty God are not for profit, and Xiaozhen's Story is one of hundreds of its videos and films released on YouTube.

9. Outstanding musical Xiaozhen's Story swept the board at the 2017 Christian Online Film Festival, winning 11 awards including the Best Feature Award, Best Director Award, Best Choreographer Award, and Best Music Award.
