Workin For A Livin
TITLE: Workin For A Livin
AUTHOR: Benjamin Brown & David Schwartz(screenplay & novel)
LOGLINE: Three childhood friends who grew up to become complete losers find themselves on an incredible journey. One that will help them discover their inner warrior and challenge their very will to live.
SUMMARY: Mook, who’s real name is Michelle, inherits a rundown old bar and restaurant from his parents and does not have the money to fix it up, let alone keep it going. Buddy and Scotty are Mook’s roommates and only friends. One evening after a psychic reading from a gypsy woman, the three decide to take a cross country trip to California to seek help from Mook’s biological father who is rich.
While the guys are gone, Joe Jack, their beer-drinking, weed-smoking pet Macaw Parrot, escapes from the apartment and goes on his own adventure, getting high, drunk, and partying with hot college babes. During their trip, the three encounter a multitude of problems such as a pack of wolves, getting lost in the bluff of Atlanta where they are robbed by a homeless man, getting their car towed and having to steal it back.
When the three finally arrive in Hollywood and locate Mook’s father Samuel Schwartz, he invites them to his home where Mook meets him for the first time. All is going well until Samuel dies while sitting on the toilet. Believing there is no hope, the three head back home, only to be awakened the next morning by a lawyer who is handling Mook’s father’s last will and testament. As it turns out, Samuel has left Mook his entire estate worth over five hundred million dollars. The movie ends with a slide-show of photos of the guys and Joe Jack with their new families, vacations, weddings, birthdays, and such.

I am a film producer and a screenplay writer who is blessed to be able to do what I love, which is freeing people from their concern and having a positive effect on others while telling a great story. While living in Hollywood for five years I had the pleasure of working on numerous TV shows and featured films. I am looking to build my production company New Magick Cinema.
