Words sound for marching
At Pentecost, when the border picks up its green dress decorated with tiny flowers, the streets of Siklód dress up for celebration as well. The coming of the Holy Spirit in the village is a celebration of the children, so they do not have to go to church. According to tradition, on the holiday Saturday, the children clean and decorate the pre-ordered barn. On the first day of Pentecost, they gather in the barn, lay on a gauze, triangular folded tablecloth, put on a black headdress with flowers, embroidered handkerchiefs on top, and then a peony bouquet. These will be the flags for the parade. The celebrating crowd of children traverses the village, then takes to the field where they play children's toys, dance, drink soda water. After dinner, dancing late into the night, playing in the barn.
