In Women Texas Film Festival’s four-day August event, we showcase the range and depth of female driven visual stories. Established and emerging female filmmakers will show that girls aren’t just made of sugar and spice. They got some grit and gasoline, too.

WTxFF screens qualified films that have women in at least one key creative role: Writer, Producer, Director, Cinematographer, Editor, Composer.

The festival also hosts Q&As with filmmakers, panel discussions, exclusive parties, and a gala night with filmmaker red carpet.

Artistic Director Justina Walford and her team have made a commitment to programming edgy, political, and unapologetic films by female filmmakers and they did not disappoint. The film selections were excellent. The staff was on point and I was blown away by how much they’ve accomplished in only three years of existence. They provided board and local transportation, meals, threw fantastic after parties and most impressive was their dedication to PR for the filmmakers, we were able to do many on camera interviews for a variety of local publications and got many mentions locally promoting our film. The Women Texas Film Festival is heading towards becoming one of the best/most important film festivals in the U.S., so don’t hesitate to apply!

We had a great time at the Women Texas Film Festival, and were honored to win an award for our short film, Possibility. There is a lot of heart put into this festival. They do a great job with promotion, with red carpet photoshoots and interview opportunities. The programming was diverse and high quality. A great place to meet fellow women filmmakers!
