Will Wertz is an American film director and editor. As a boy, when he wasn't tromping through fields and roaming parking lots he wrote poetry and music in his bedroom. After studying psychology in college his passions culminated in filmmaking where he dives deep into human condition, personal identity, and explores character in emotionally striking ways.
His short documentary work has been featured in the Huffington Post and Devour and at international film festivals while his advertisements have won Emmy and Addy awards including a Judge's Choice and a national nomination.
We were all desperate for ways to stay sane throughout the 2020 lockdown. For Ben, Grayson and I it was dreaming of characters and stories over Zoom. As our friends and family lost work and were torn down by the hard times, I wondered how far I would go if I were at the end of my rope.
Jessie and Harley, the two main characters in Wolf At The Door, were raised in "boot strap America". They have nothing and see no prospects other than this job. This short film is a love story between two grown men who don't know how to lift one another up when they both need the support. They depend on each other but can only see their own struggle.
