Without Voice

We can judge a person's heart by the way they treat animals, but animal rights are as important as human rights. An animal cannot speak, but it can suffer, our voice is their hope.
The documentary begins by exploring the abuse of domestic animals, including neglect and violence against pets. Through shocking images and emotional testimonies, the film brings to light a national issue, but often overlooked: why do people abuse animals?
The story of the veteran dog Max who is abandoned by MAPN and rescued from a shelter by Sorina Henea, and the adoption process and the hope that will save him from the disease becomes a central element of the documentary, illustrating the power of human compassion and efforts to change the destinies of animals .
In the 3rd part of the film, we talk about the unseen heroes who help improve the quality of life of children with autism and elderly people with locomotor problems. The documentary also focuses on utility animals such as dogs in the state services for detecting drugs, explosives or missing persons. These animals perform dangerous and essential missions to protect us and save lives.
To conclude, the film examines the deep emotional connection between humans and animals, highlighting how they can become a key factor in our development as humans and even if they cannot speak, they show us daily through deeds, empathy and loyalty the love they carry towards us, being even a member of the family.

Director Biography - Alexandra Maria Manda

My name is Alexandra, I'm 21 years old,I live in Bucharest , I'm a film directing student and I am attending to learn from these fields:3D/2D Animation,Graphics,3D Concepting ,Directing, Acting, Video Editing and Digital Art.My project "Against Time" represents my first movie that I made as a film-directing student in the first year of college for the semester exam with which I won 2 awards at the Cannes World Film Festival Remember the Future. I was on the selection jury in an International Movie Festival.I received in 2023 an artistic achievement diploma which is recognized at a international level by Museum of Art from Luxembourg in the contest of art:"Luxembourg Art Prize".
I played at the theatre in Bucharest "Unteatru" in a play with the world-known actress Maia Morgenstern from the movie "The Passion of the Christ". I graduated a high school in Art field in Pitești and received an graphic certificate .When I was 18 I won with my filmmaking team from high school the first place in an nationally short film contest for "Anti drugs".When I was 17,me and my filmmaking high school team won the special prize in the nationally contest "Boovie Festival" and also we attended the short film festivals and theatre projects from Romania:"Boovie Festival", "Dracula Film Festival", "Anticorruption","Anti drugs" and "Stop Violence".My guidance teacher throughout the school years was Mr. Baltă Laurențiu, the former student of the well-known Graphic Artist from the Union of Visual Artists,Mircea Dumitrescu

Director Statement

If you want to know how you are as a person, look at the way you treat animals. Even if they don't have the opportunity to speak, they show us daily through deeds, empathy, and loyalty the love they have for us. The moment they are in danger, be the voice they need to defend themselves.

Our best option is us.Life begins when the fear is over, but sometimes failure is the key to success, it depends on how you approach the situation.I want to go to the place I'm afraid to follow because I know that place is exactly what I'm looking for.Even if talent represents between 1% and 99% of work, without passion, ambition, and motivation, you cannot create something to inspire the public.The noblest art is to make people smile and to make your message heard by others.I hope I made my message and intentions heard with the short film "Without Voice."
