Formally known as the Wirksworth 3 Minute Film Festival....
...Following the success of the first 3 Miinute Film Festival held in Sept 2019, due to demand and following a consultation period with filmmakers, we have decided to extend the film festival to a number of wider categories.
For the 2020 season we have extended our categories to Short Film, Extra Long Short Film, and Feature Film.
The festival will also include a number of specialist talks and workshops for filmmakers.
The festival itself will take place in the town of Wirksworth Derbyshire over a week long period. We are working alongside The Northern Light Cinema to screen films, but we will also screen films at a number of locations across the town during the week.
We have kept our 3 minute film category due to popular demand.
Our first film festival attracted over 180 films from around the world, which were all screened and judged, for this year we still make the promise that we will screen a higher proportion of films than other film festivals. Your films will be judged by industry figures, ranging from actors to DOP's. A list of judges will appear on our website as they are added. We are again working alongside some great partners, The event is to be covered by BlazingMinds, one of the top UK film blogs.
We have a special category open to filmmakers from the Derbyshire Dales, UK, this will receive a special section within the film festival, this is designed to encourage filmmakers from the immediate region to submit their films. These films will sit independently within the film festival.
The 2020 Film Festival, promises to be an exciting event taking place in the picturesque town of Wirksworth, Derbyshire, a well known creative hub.
Laurels will be given for: Official Selection. Winner laurels.
Films will be judged by professionals in the fields of filmmaking. At least three judges will see each film.
