Ernesto Garratt is a neurodivergent Chilean author, he wrote two strong socials novels: Allegados (Hueders, 2017, National Prize for Best Novel For Young Readers and Chilean best-seller) and its sequel, Casa Propia (Hueders, 2019). Both novels are part of a trilogy about poverty set in the 80s. His last novel is a sci-fi parody called Error de Continuidad (Áurea Ediciones, 2020) and tells the surrealistic story of a Chilean script-supervisor working for a Hollywood movie set in Chile. Ernesto Garratt is also journalist and film critic. He has been FIPRESCI jury at Cannes, Moscow, London during the last decades and his job as cinema journalist has been recognized with severals awards: Sanfic Award in 2011 and MAGs Awards for best interview 2016 and 2017. He's also the author of a book on cinema called Tardes de cine (Ediciones B, 2012). He also wrote one of the pieces of the French book Ces années-là (ÉDITIONS STOCK, 2017). According some quotes, this Chilean author enjoys reading novels, graphics novels and the good stortytelling. "I think Moby Dick is the greatest book ever written, I agree with every Dickens's fan, I believe deeply in the magic of Alan Moore and I feel the power of manga and anime inside each bone of my body. Easy, I let myself go into the deep waters of the horror and that`s why I adore Lovecraft, Poe and King. And I dream awake, each day of my life, walking on the sands of Dune, by Frank Herbert; and when I fall asleep, I feel I'm living in my magic Macondo," said Ernesto Garratt in Chilean media during the release of his first novel: Allegados.
