Director Statement

Windyville is a project that has been very near and dear to my heart since the initial idea in 2016. Originally this started as a book about a town so off the beaten path that it never gets any visitors; yet it holds an immense secret that directly affects the entire world.

Somewhere I realized it was more, and I started writing a film. When my ideas kept flowing, I decided to turn that in to a TV series.

And now, I’ve built an entire world with rules and characters and themes that can carry in to 5 total seasons. In late 2022, I decided to write a short film set in the world as a stand alone project. I wanted something that could show that the growing Nashville film community is capable of great things.

Windyville is heavily rooted in Greek Mythology. I love how stories are retold through generations, and characters die and are reborn centuries later. Every line in this film matters. Every character decision.

This is Windyville. Not a proof of concept as much as a proof of me. I hope you enjoy it; I’m sure you’ll have plenty of questions.
