Madison Banks grew up in Colorado where she gained a love for nature and fantasy through adventure hikes she would take with her dad and three younger siblings. On those walks, they would invent stories and study nature, often learning about wildlife survival and conservation.
As she grew older, her love for nature melded with an affinity for art. And thus, she chose to pursue a career in the arts. She studied animation and creative writing at the Columbus College of Art & Design, and focused on environmental storytelling and visual effects during her time there. She graduated in May 2023 with a BFA in 2D Animation & Creative Writing.
She hopes to continue working in animation, and foster her love for nature no matter where she may go.
Justin Haggard is a Background Painter, Character Designer, and Visual Development artist. He is currently pursuing a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Animation at Columbus College of Art & Design. He is based in Columbus, OH.
He strives to give his artwork a strong sense of atmosphere and a sense of life. He is inspired by rainy days, music, and spending time with family and friends. He loves to travel to new places and find the beauty in the everyday.
"Williwaw" was created by two friends who shared a love for the outdoors, and wanted to make something that was "just vibes" for their senior film. The film drew inspiration from shows like Fantasia and Over the Garden Wall, and aimed to be a relaxing experience with a touch of mystery. We think we nailed those goals, and hope that you feel the same. The film was featured in CCAD's "Best Of" Animation screening at the end of year celebration "Chroma."
