Will You Find Me? was written with my two lead actors (and great friends) in mind. Knowing and working with two such experienced and emotionally available actors, I was interested in creating an emotionally-charged and high-stakes moment in time, but one that was filled with silence and space. When considering the age of the two actors, I felt a natural gravitation towards a parent-adult child relationship and the spark of an idea was born. What I hope an audience witnesses is a monumental moment in two people’s lives, and all the tension, uncertainty, frustration, anger, grief and hope a two-decade absence brings. When writing Will You Find Me? I found myself always asking, if I was in this situation, what would be the first question I ask?
