Zach Campbell is a traditional animator, character designer, and storyboard artist, from New Kensington, Pennsylvania. Growing up in a small town, there was not much to do except watch cartoons so, he was practically raised on animation. His previous credit includes his junior film “Suburban Legend.” He is a graduate of the Edinboro University of Pennsylvania and is currently working on several other projects.
"Wild Fire is an experiment in style and storytelling. I got the idea for the story on a camping trip with my friends. We were sitting around the campfire watching the fire. I thought to myself, “it moved as if it was alive.” Then when we put it out, the fire hissed as if it didn’t want to be extinguished. And I thought, “there’s my idea right there” and started sketching in my sleeping bag that night. For the film, I experimented with a line-less, illustrative art style with a focus on the story and the characters."
