Widow's Point

Financial desperation drives author Thomas Livingston to spend a weekend locked inside the haunted Widow's Point lighthouse as a publicity stunt for his latest book. As he uncovers the terrifying history of the lighthouse, Livingston is targeted by powerful, otherworldly forces. Questioning his sanity, he must confront the source of nightmarish evil that permeates the ominous tower.

Craig Sheffer (NIGHTBREED, HELLRAISER: INFERNO) stars in Gregory Lamberson's (SLIME CITY, JOHNNY GRUESOME) screen version of the critically acclaimed supernatural novella by New York Times bestselling author Richard Chizmar and his son Billy Chizmar.

""Gamy and go-for-broke, shuffling time with memory, and never less than beautifully self-aware. Greg Lamberson’s WIDOW’S POINT offers what is very nearly a solo showcase to Craig Scheffer, who responds with bellows and rants, mutters and whispers, and otherwise by strutting his stuff through this lively horror cut-up."

Director Biography - Gregory Lamberson

Gregory Lamberson is an award-winning author and independent filmmaker who specializes in the horror genre. Perhaps best known for his 1988 cult film SLIME CITY and its 2010 sequel SLIME CITY MASSACRE, Lamberson most recently directed JOHNNY GRUESOME and KILLER RACK. The author of 12 novels, 2 novellas and 1 filmmaking book, he has now directed 8 feature films, and produced several others. His six-book occult detective series "The Jake Helman Files" is currently being developed as a potential TV series by George Mihalka (MY BLOODY VALENTINE).

Lamberson has worked with such genre luminaries as Frank Henenlotter, Roy Frumkes, Fred Olen Ray, Lloyd Kaufman, Christopher Ray, Craig Sheffer, Debbie Rochon, Lynn Lowry, and Tiffany Shepis. FANGORIA magazine called him "the hardest working man in horror."

Lamberson recently received Shawna Shea Memorial Film Festival's William Gerrity Award, named after William C. Gerrity, the Hollywood legend who worked in various capacities on such films as A FACE IN THE CROWD, KLUTE, THE FRENCH CONNECTION, HOUSE OF DARK SHADOWS, and SOPHIE'S CHOICE.

Director Statement

I've been an independent filmmaker for 35 years: the first feature I worked on was I WAS A TEENAGE ZOMBIE, as production manager, back in 1984, and the first feature I directed was SLIME CITY, two years later, at the age of 21. I've worked with low budgets and no-budgets; with bad distributors, worse distributors, and distributors who did the best they could. It's never easy, but I've never given up.

Most of my films have been goofy horror comedies, but WIDOW'S POINT is different. This is my first stab at making a legitimately scary picture. When author/publisher Richard Chizmar (Cemetery Dance Publications, MASTERS OF HORROR) sent me an advance copy of the novella he wrote with his son Billy, I saw an opportunity to make a film that would evoke some of my favorite genre works: DARK SHADOWS, GHOST STORY, SALEM'S LOT, THE TWILIGHT ZONE and the writing of H.P. Lovecraft.

I cast Craig Sheffer (NIGHTBREED, HELLRAISER: INFERNO) as the lead, and believe he gives a career best performance in this film. Despite a low budget, we shot in 8K and have an excellent 5.1 mix which enhances a score that includes vocals by Mary Ramsey of 10,000 Maniacs.

I hope you enjoy it!
