Wicked Season
Ten years after Alton Crow was locked away for a series of unspeakable killings, the city finds itself threatened again on Halloween as an apparent copycat evades police while taking women one by one. The trail leads three detectives to an abandoned insane asylum, only to find they've been lured there by something far more sinister.

A self-taught Texas filmmaker, Haun started his own video production company in early 2006. He directed and produced music videos, documentaries, television commercials and short films for festival circuits. He learned how to construct heavy visual environments with the resources around him, and developed expertise in making films look bigger than their budget. Over nearly twenty years, Haun has gained feature film experience in many roles over many projects - most notably in camera operation, post editorial, cinematography, producing, screenwriting, and directing. His feature film directorial debut was the horror-thriller Wicked Season (2024). Haun's networking skills led him to work with many great Texas filmmakers including Richard Linklater and William Kaufman, experiences which inspire Haun to push himself artistically by trusting his instincts.
I saw magic flying off the page when I first read the script. That’s when I decided I wanted to direct this film. It was both exciting and fascinating. I was initially attracted by the horror/thriller genre, but the unraveling mystery kept me from putting it down - I wanted to add more layers to it. So I accepted the film and got busy making notes.
Working on the movie was life-changing. The relationships formed, the lessons learned in the trials by fire, troubleshooting the impossible - all of it carries into the next film. Production had its own challenges - from filming on notoriously haunted locations in Texas to freezing winter winds - but I feel like I've grown as a director having faced them. The hardships inspired the crew to rally together and create an incredibly fun film. Filming on weekends gave the talent more time to rehearse, which contributed to the performances and artistry in the film. Bonus: When you watch the film, keep your eyes on the shadows and don't blink - you never know what you might see.
