Director Biography - Bailey Thompson

Bailey Thompson is currently a Senior at the University of North Carolina Wilmington and is a Film Studies Major! Ever since she was a kid, Bailey has loved capturing her personal experiences, savoring memories, and meeting new people. She loves searching out authenticity in her films and loves telling people's stories. Just recently, she is learning to tell her own. Earlier this year, Bailey served as the Director of Photography on a short documentary, titled “Skin Deep.” In this film, it explored why people get tattoos and some of the common misconceptions surrounding that community. One of the key factors that drives Bailey in her filmmaking is jumping into other people’s worlds and learning as much as she can about them. In her current short film, titled “Who-Ber,” she aims to focus on the rideshare community and what it means to invite complete strangers into one’s personal space. Meeting new people, writing short stories, watching Netflix, and hanging out with friends are some of Bailey’s favorite pastimes! Her future goals include graduating UNCW with outstanding grades, joining the team at Philip James Films - a local wedding film company, and starting a family of her own.
