White Witch

Following the Islandmagee witch trials (1710-11) in Northern Ireland, White Witch takes place in early 1712. Eight imprisoned witches are on the cusp of release, meanwhile witch hunter Malachy O' Farrell, the man responsible for their imprisonment and torture, is progressively getting more sick as the days go by and he suspects foul play, now he must turn to the last person he'd ever wish to for help- the white witch.

Director Biography - Harvey Loftus

Growing up in the small town of Ballyclare in Northern Ireland, Harvey uses the Northern Irish countryside to feature as a main setting in his films.
Harvey initially began his interest in the arts by wanting to be an actor from a young age until he was 16, this all changed through his MIA (Moving Image Arts) Course that he took at A-Level. In terms of his history directing his own films, 'Heaphestus' (his first Short) won second place in the young person's category in the 'Cinemagic Film Festival'.
Following this he moved to England (Norwich) to pursue film further through a film and MIA course in Norwich University of the Arts and has completed his first year.

Director Statement

White witch stands as my third attempt at making a short film and in my opinion is my best work yet. This was such a joy to make, especially alongside my best friend and personal composer/Actor: Adam Todd. We've put all we've got into this project and stopped at nothing to get it finished, and we hope that hard work and effort shows.
This film was made completely through will and the love of filmmaking, I am a big fan of director Ben Wheatley and all his films and his work greatly influenced the style and visuals of this project.
I am also a huge fan of cinema in general and am completely hooked on making films, I have no big budget, no fancy sets, no professional actors or crew, I'm just a teenager with a massive amount of passion and some close friends willing to help execute my dreams.
