While I Was Sleeping
The film tells the story of Jéssica and Raul, a couple passionate about science and science fiction. During the day, everyone follows their routine, and at night, immersed in long conversations about the universe, they dream about the possibility of life outside Earth. However, the couple's tranquility is shaken when Raul begins to exhibit strange behavior, leaving Jéssica confused and worried, believing that something inexplicable is happening. An engaging story, which explores the relationship between science and science fiction, and between reason and imagination. With an intriguing plot and charismatic characters, the film invites the audience to reflect on the infinite possibilities that life can offer.

Nathalia Kwast is a director, actress and poet. He graduated in Photography from Senac and in Performing Arts from UNICAMP. In 2014, he lived in London, where he studied with Giles Formen at the Center for Acting and participated in the independent group “Let’s Make a Scene”.
His debut as a film director took place with the short film “While I Was Sleeping”, awarded by Lei Paulo Gustavo. During the pandemic, he launched the “Minha Poesia” project, a collection of video poems of his own, which won five awards at the Up Festival.
Currently, Nathalia is dedicated to preparing and directing actors for film monologues at the production company Sistema Binário. As an actress, she made her debut in the feature film “Amador”, by Cristiano Burlan, and was part of important theater companies, such as CPT, Grupo XPTO, Garagem 21 and Grupo Furunfunfum. He also participated in international festivals, including the Iberoamerican Festival in Bogotá with the play “Toda Nudez Ser Castigada”, directed by Antunes Filho, and the ANIMA International Festival in Cuba with “Lorca, Aleluia Erótica”, by Grupo XPTO, under the direction of Osvaldo Gabrieli.
Science fiction, by transcending the limitations of reality, provides a creative and philosophical space to question reality, human nature and society.
