Where the Sea Meets the Heartland
In the near future, the state of Pernambuco faces the brink of flooding due to extreme climate changes. This news prompts the protagonist on a solitary journey through abandoned roads, finding in the ruins a profound connection to her roots. Dance becomes her sole means of communication as nature reclaims its space. An ancient prophecy comes true: the heartland turns into the sea. "Where the Sea Meets the Heartland" is a videodance short film that delves into themes of change and identity.

Elle Moon is an actress, writer, and director. With 10 years of experience in the field, she has excelled in theater and writing, participating in projects such as Recife Mal Assombrado, Lisbela e o Prisioneiro, and The Addams Family - The Musical.
In 2022, she ventured into audiovisual production, and in 2024, she directed Estação da Cultura, her first short film released through her independent production company, "Aceite o Mistério."
And now, in 2025, she is releasing her latest film, Where the Sea Meets the Heartland.
"Projections indicate that Pernambuco state may face more severe climate conditions starting in 2041. Recife, the capital, is already considered the most threatened city in Brazil by rising sea levels. In the countryside of Pernambuco, for example, temperatures are expected to rise by 3.7°C (ALVES, 2024). These events are no longer isolated; they serve as urgent calls to reevaluate our relationship with the planet and the history we carry.
How long will we continue to ignore nature’s warnings and the lessons of the past? In times of uncertainty, taking action is an act of resistance, hope, and love. Thus, "Where the Sea Meets the Heartland" invites audiences to envision a future where human beings and nature coexist harmoniously. The film is a call to action."
