Where is the sun?

My short film 'Where is the Sun?' is about striving to reach the sun. The curious sun takes an interest in a small gnome and begins to follow him. When the gnome notices the sun following him, he becomes horrified and runs away. Feeling hurt, the sun hides, and darkness falls. The gnome sits in the darkness until a firefly suddenly appears. The gnome catches it and puts it into his pocket. He continues his journey, but there is no sunlight anymore. He asks himself, 'Where is the sun?' The firefly in his pocket comes out and grows bigger. The gnome realizes that it is the sun. Now, they continue their journey together.

Director Biography - Gulya Rodigina

I'm Gulya Rodigina, an interpreter of Dutch in the past and an animator at a Moscow studio 'Pilot' in the present. This is my first completed film on my own. I am fascinated by the animation process; it's not just my job, it's also my hobby. I have always loved drawing, and although I have been drawing since I was one year old, I believed that drawing could only be a hobby and not a profession. That's why I studied Dutch at the University of Saint-Petersburg. I discovered my passion for animation when I took a two-year course in 2D animation at Screamschool. Animation makes me feel happier.
